Thank you for such a great article! I’m South Asian and fit the “golden brown skin, wavy hair” ambiguous profile. I’ve ABSOLUTELY seen the privilege I’m afforded compared to my dark-skinned friends and relatives. It sickens me. I firmly believe that light-skinned people like me have a duty to raise our voices in the fight against colourism, too. As you said, none of us will break free until this racist, often misogynistic ideal is eradicated from our perception of beauty.
